Tip-offs lead to arrests

2010-02-18

ANONYMOUS tip-offs to Mbekweni police have led to the arrest of six people this past weekend for various offences.

On Sunday the police were informed that three men were trying to sell a laptop computer in P Block.

With the first sign of the police in the area, the laptop was hidden in a tree and the men dispersed.

The community however pointed out the laptop, and led the police to the three suspects.

After information was received about the selling of dagga in Langabuya, the police followed the leads.

This led to the seizure of a large amount of dagga, and the arrest of three locals.

The station commander of Mbekweni police station has thanked the public for assisting the police in their fight against crime.

Any information can be given to the Mbekweni police at 021-868-9900.
