* Idea Box. The Idea Box Market is taking place until 7 March daily from 09:00 to 18:00 at the Vendôme Wine Farm close to Paarl Mall. Entrance is R10 and includes a free wine tasting. Contact 084-850-0695.
* Tree and protea sale. Two small nurseries, not usually open to the public are offering some of their surplus stock at wholesale prices. * Fun walk. Holy Trinity Church in Paarl will have a 8 km fun/run walk on 6 March. The fun/run walk will start at 08:00 at the Paarl Cricket Club House. Entry fee before 6 March is R20 and R25 on the day of the event. For more information, contact 082-8232-918.
* Service. A healing revival service with Pastor Deon Hockey will be held from 7 to 11 March at 19:00 at the Paarl Town Hall. Contact 083-415-7834.
* Festival. The 2010 Vrede en Lust Savoye Day Harvest Festival takes place on 13 March from 11:00 to 16:00. There will be grape stomping fun, musical fanfare, and kiddies’ entertainment. The dress code is red, white and blue and the price is R250 per adult (children free). The price includes participation in all activities, food platters and wine on tap. Contact 021-874-1611.
* Gourmet. The award-winning Bosman’s Restaurant at the Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl presents its first gourmet evening of 2010 on 13 March. It will be hosted by wine-maker John Loubser from Steenberg Vineyards in Tokai, and a five course meal will be served, paired with his wines. * Volunteers required. The Paarl police require volunteers to assist as trauma councillors at their Victim Trauma Room. The Trauma Room deals with any trauma related incidents concerning especially women and children. Volunteers perform these duties on a voluntary basis.
