Thousands support Wilde Cycle race
2010-03-04
THERE was great anticipation for the Wilde Cycle Day at the Boland Stadium in Wellington on Saturday, as the previous years have proven very successful. That’s why it was no surprise when 1639 cyclists, including league riders, flocked to Wellington to take part in this year’s Wilde Cycle Day. The men’s elite champion was David Garrett, with Jenny Stenerhag being crowned the women’s elite champion. Adriaan Louw and Louise van Rooyen won the men’s and women’s MTB races respectively. Cyclists who performed well locally, were Paarlites Bradwin Daniels (senior scholars) and JC Jantjies (junior scholars), who won their respective races. The subveteran men’s champion was Andreas Studer and the veteran men’s champion was Daniel Schmeisser.
