* Uitstalling. Die uitstalling genaamd Wellington inspireer word geopen op 9 Maart by die Breytenbach-sentrum om 18:00. In hierdie groepsuitstalling – ter viering van die dorp se Oesfees – wys Dalene Buckle en haar studente hoe die verfkwas en wit doeke kreatiwiteit kan oopmaak. * Production. The US production of the award-winning play ‘Art’ by French playwright Yasmina Reza can be seen at the HB Thom Theatre from 9 to 13 March at 20:00. The production is directed by Marthinus Basson and stars Christiaan Olwagen (2008 Fleur Du Cap Award winner), Wessel Pretorius and Wilhelm van der Walt (2009 Fleur Du Cap Award Nominees). Set in Paris, the story revolves around three friends – Serge, Marc and Yvan who find their previously solid 15 year friend-ship on shaky ground when Serge buys a very expensive painting, a canvas, white, with a few white lines. The painting becomes a catalyst for these three men to assess and reassess the meaning of art and the nature of love. Tickets are R40. For more information, contact 021-808-3216 (after 14h00).

* Optrede. Nedine Blom tree op 12 Maart om 19:00 by die Riebeek-Kasteel NG Kerksaal op. Dit sal haar ‘Supercool vir Jesus’ show wees waar sy veral toespits op die kinders en die ouers. Kaartjies is beskikbaar by Theresa Visser by 082-378-7595 teen R20. Op 14 Maart hou Nedine ’n gesinsdiens in die kerk.
* Exhibition. The opening of Paul Emmanuel’s Transitions exhibition will be shown at Spier Old Wine Cellar Gallery until 31 March. The exhibition comprises of a series of drawings (and a film). * Playwriting workshops. New Writing Programme will present playwriting workshops on 6 and 7 March and 13 and 14 March at the Artscape Theatre Centre. The workshops will be led by playwright and literary consultant, Juliet Jenkin, covering a basic approach to structure, narrative and character. The workshop fee is R500 and “scholarships” are also available. * Book show. The Drakenstein Municipality’s Library Services will participate in a Book Show at Paarl Mall from 4 to 7 March (in front of Pick n Pay) to showcase their services during National Library Week. Kids can enjoy fun activities like face painting, colouring and stories. A box will be provided for the return of overdue material. * An author’s evening with travel writer Mike Copeland will be held at Paarl library on 24 March.
