ANY signage which is erected within the road reserve, has to be approved by the Municipality.
Essentially, only traffic signs and approved direction signs (brown tourism boards) are legal.
All illegal signage within the road reserve is removed as and when the work load permits, such as the signs recently erected concerning a neighbourhood watch in Central Paarl.
Should the neighbourhood watch need to erect signage, they are welcome to do so in the prescribed manner by applying to the Municipality.
It must be noted that the signage that was removed would in any event not have been approved, as it did not conform to the prescribed standard. Details are available on request.
