Road closures for cycle tours

FOR the safety of the competitors and the general public, traffic will be controlled in the vicinity of the Giro del Capo cycling race, which passes through Paarl today. Market Street will be partially closed from 05:00 to 09:30 and 12:30 to 14:30, with delays also expected in Franschhoek Main Road from 10:00 to 11:00, Villiersdorp Main Road from 11:00 to 11:30 and on the R43 to Worcester and Rawsonville Main Road from 11:30 to 12:30. Roads around the Du Toit’s Kloof Pass will be closed in both directions from 12:00 to 14:00, on Rooihoogte Pass (between Villiersdorp and Worcester) from 11:30 to 12:30 and on the Franschhoek Pass from 10:00 to 11:00. * Motorists must be on the look-out for cyclists competing in the four day Tour de Boland Cycle tour, which started yesterday at the Florida Padstal in Wellington (R44/R45 Malmesbury road). This tour will start at the same spot today and tomorrow at 09:00. On Saturday the Tour will come to an end, with the start (09:00) and end at the Taalmonument in Paarl. Cyclists will head in the direction of Klapmuts and go onto the Agter-Paarl road past Fairview, onto the R44 and back to Paarl.
