* Basaar. Die NG Kerk Franschhoek hou hul jaarlikse basaar op Saterdag 13 Maart om 10:00. Daar kan uitgesien word na lekkernye, pret vir die kinders, veilings en vele meer.
* Skoolbasaar. Ligstraal skool vir gestremdes nooi die gemeenskap om hul jaarlikse basaar op 13 Maart van 09:00 by die skool by te woon. Vir meer inligting, kontak 021-862-7182.
* Tree and protea sale. Two small nurseries not usually open to the public, are offering some of their surplus stock at wholesale prices. This sale will take place on 19 and 20 March at Inca Vale farm, adjacent to Florida Padstal, Wellington. The full selection can be viewed on www.incavalenursery.co.za or call Gavin on 082-3402-650.
* Pottery. Ceramics Southern Africa (CSA) will host their annual March Potters’ Market on 20 March (08:00 to 16:00) at Rondebosch Park, corner of Sandown and Campground Roads, Rondebosch, Cape Town. This market dedicated to potters only is restricted to objects made of clay. Articles for sale will range from functional ware to the more sculptural. Live demonstrations on the potter’s wheel and hand-built work will take place throughout the day including a kiddies’ clay corner. Contact Letitia at 021-979-3537 or Iris at 021-715-5530.
* Trompoppies. Die eerste Boland prestige-trompoppiekompetisie word op Saterdag vanaf 09:00 tot 16:00 op Ebenezer Laerskool se skoolgronde gehou. Die deelnemers is William Lloyd Primêr, Hillcrest Primêr, Ebenezer Primêr, W.E. Seniors Drummies en Paarl Drummies. Toegang is R10 (R5 vir kinders onder 12 jaar).
* Reünie. Die oudstudente van Weltevrede Sekondêre Skool hou op 26 Maart om 19:30 ’n piekniekdans by Bergrivier Sekondêre Skool. Kaartjies is R40. Vir navrae, kontak JC le Cordeur by 082-820-2198.
* Gospelfees. Die Dennegeur-gemeenskapskoor bied op Saterdag 13 Maart ’n gospelfees op die Dennegeur-sportterrein in Franschhoek aan van 16:00. Die hekke open om 15:00. Bring jou piekniekmandjie, kombers of stoel saam. Kontak Nico by 021-876-9100 of by 082-498-4130.
* Festival. The 2010 Vrede en Lust Savoye Day Harvest Festival takes place on Saturday from 11:00 to 16:00. There will be grape stomping fun, musical fanfare, and kiddies’ entertainment. The dress code is red, white and blue and the price is R250 per adult (children free). The price includes all activities, live music, food platters, as well as wine on tap. * Volunteers required. The Paarl police require volunteers to assist as trauma councillors at their Victim Trauma Room. The Trauma Room deals with any trauma related incidents concerning especially women and children. Volunteers perform these duties on a voluntary basis. * Tulips. Die Tulips klopsegroep hou op Sondag 14 Maart hul jaarvergadering om 12:00 by S Isaacs se woning te Lupinestraat 1, Wellington. Alle lede en nuwe lede is welkom. ’n Nuwe bestuur sal ook gekies word.
* Vergader. Die Paarlse komitee wat reëlings tref vir die plaaslike “Cansa Relay for Life” deurnag-aflosbyeenkoms (20-21 Maart) is reeds hard aan die werk. Dit word aangebied op die Boy Louw Sportgronde (Zandriftveld). Om deel te neem, kontak Bertie (083-516-1291) of Kelvin (078-233-2997).
