Final Boland team for SA champs

BOLAND ATHLETICS selected a final team of 84 athletes who will represent the Boland at the SA Youth and Junior Championships from 10 to 11 April in Germiston. A total of 22 athletes were added to the preliminary team announced by Boland Athletics a fortnight ago. The team consist of 53 boys and 31 girls. The Boland Youth and Junior Team has as objective to improve on the 31 medals they won at the 2009 event and will attempt to qualify for a number of SA Youth and Junior Teams. Athletes from Paarl and Wellington to make the final Boland Team to the Junior Track and Field Championships, are: (junior men) Ferdie Geldenhuys (1500m; Boland Landbou School); Leroy Bitterhout (400m and 400mH; Klein Nederburg); Luvo Nkewu (High Jump; Paarl Boys’ HS); Luvo Manyonga (Long Jump and Triple Jump; Desmund Tutu SS); Christian Norman (Pole Vault; Paarl Gym); Ben van der Westhuizen (Pole Vault; Paarl Boys’ HS); Renaldo Frechou (Hammer Throw; Paarl Boys’ HS). (Junior women) Melissa Hewitt (100m and 200m; Paarl AC); Monique-Ann Lombaard (3000m; La Rochelle GHS); Jean-MarieSenekal (100mH and 400mH; Paarl Gym).
