Top schools at Newlands Rugby Day

THREE local schools (Boland Agricultural School, Paarl Gymnasium and Paarl Boys’ High), will look to show the rest of the province why they are three of the top rugby playing schools in the country, when they participate in the annual Canal Walk Schools’ Day at Newlands on Wednesday. Other u.19 teams participating include Bishops, Rangers/Silvertree RFC, Rondebosch Boys’ High School, SACS and Wynberg Boys’ High. The Schools’ Day offers some of the top rugby playing high and primary schools an opportunity to prepare ahead of the rugby season, showcasing the future talent in the province. Entrance is free and spectators are welcome. Primary school matches start at 15:00, with the under 19 matches kicking off at 15:55. The high school match day schedule is: 15:55 - Rangers/Silvertree RFC U19 vs Tygerberg High School; 16:40 - Paul Roos Gymnasium vs Wynberg Boys’ High; 17:25 - SACS vs Paarl Gymnasium; 18:30 - Boland Agricultural vs Bishops; 19:15 - Rondebosch Boys’ High vs Paarl Boys’ High.
