ON Saturday 27 March the well-known St George’s Singers will perform at the La Motte annual Classic Easter Concert in the Franschhoek Dutch Reformed Church at 19:00.
They will be conducted by Barry Smith and their repertoire will feature appropriate choral works covering four centuries of music.
As one of South Africa’s leading chamber choirs, the St George’s Singers have made a significant contribution to the musical life of Cape Town, particularly in their performances of major choral works, oratorios and masses. They have participated in various overseas tours, made numerous radio and TV appearances and performed during the first Human Rights Day service held in the St. George’s Cathedral, Cape Town in 1995, with Queen Elizabeth II and Nelson Mandela in attendance.
