Romeo and Juliet

THE Siyasanga Cape Town Theatre Company in association with Artscape presents the play Romeo and Juliet, for learners, with performances for the public as well, from 16 April to 1 May in the Artscape Theatre. This production is a contemporary re-visioning of the Shakespeare classic, set in Cape Town 2010, with the Montagues and Capulets playing for two competing soccer teams. Directed by Roy Sargeant, the production stars Dean Roberts and Zondwa Njokweni as the “star-cross’d lovers”, award winning actress, Diane Wilson as the Nurse, Peter Gilchrist as Friar Laurence, Sizwe Msutu as Capulet, Jeroen Kranenburg as Montague, Clayton Boyd as Mercutio and a full cast.
