I sustained damage to my car while driving on the N1 on Thursday 8 April because of the road works outbound. The right lane was closed off before the Klipheuwel turn-off, whereafter the barriers were removed, indicating that the right hand lane was open for traffic.

The tar was still wet and did impressive damage to my vehicle. My tyres also had a layer of tar more than one cm thick stuck onto them.

I have called the SA National Roads Agency Ltd (Sanral) and was informed to lodge my complaint and claim with Imelda Julies on juliesi@nra.co.za. Any other road users who sustained similar damage should email Imelda Julies or phone 021-957-4600.
