Public meeting on impact of campus development

A DRAFT impact assessment of the proposed Montana Community Campus in Paarl South (erf 3239), has been released. A public meeting where the results of the Draft Scoping Report will be discussed, will be held on Tuesday 25 May at 18:00 in the hall of the Suider Paarl Dutch Reformed Church in Courtrai. Courtrai Developments proposes to rezone and develop the lower (south-eastern) portion of the farm Montana for the establishment of a community centre, including a 3000 seat auditorium/conference venue, educational facilities, a health centre with frail care, retail and restaurant facilities, parking, and a retirement village consisting of approximately 180 units and related facilities. As part of the EIA process, a Draft Scoping Report, incorporating public input thus far, has been compiled, providing further details regarding the proposed development and the affected environment. All interested and affected parties are invited to attend the meeting to discuss further issues and concerns. This report is available to the public for review and comment at the Paarl Public Library, the Drakenstein Public Library and on SRK’s website at www.srk.co.za (click on “public documents” link).
