BOLAND ATHLETICS concluded its 2010 athletics season as the most successful ever in Boland Athletics history. The Boland athlete set a new bench mark by winning well over 100 medals at the various national Championships events during March and April. The most remarkable was during the 2010 ASA Youth And Junior Championships when the Boland Athletes won 45 medals, the most ever at this level, and in the process came second in the medal tally with the leaders, Central Gauteng Athletics, a mere 4 medals ahead. No less than seven Boland athletes are in preparation to represent South Africa at the 2010 CAA African Championships. Four junior Boland athletes are in preparation to represent South Africa at the 2010 IAAF World Junior Championships and six Boland youth athletes are in preparation to represent South Africa at the 2010 Southern Region of Africa Championships where the youth athletes will also attempt to qualify for the first ever Youth Olympic Games.
