Bursary scheme for employees of Paarl Media
2005-09-15
APART from its continuous investment in the training of its own employees and people for the printing industry, the Paarl Media Group has just announced a R10 million bursary scheme.
Commenting on the decision to commit another large sum of money to develop people from the Paarl Valley, Executive Chairman Lambert Retief says: “We are making bursaries available to the children of our personnel, and to the general public from previously disadvantaged communities in Paarl Valley.
“They do not have to study a printing qualification, rather we want to help strengthen the fabric of society by making tertiary learning accessible to our employees’ children and other young people from Paarl.
“Our roots are here in Paarl and therefore, we aim to create a self-sustainable bursary scheme to benefit members of the 'Paarl family'.” Specifics around this social responsibility project have to be announced.
