MY son Edward (14) was crossing Lady Grey Street in front of Mr Price store Paarl on Tuesday 4 May at about 14:00 in his Boys’ High school uniform.
As he stepped off the pavement, he was hit by the rear fender of a vehicle (a grey or silver VW Sharan) turning from Lady Grey Street into Main Street.
He fell in the road and the wheel of the vehicle went over the bottom of his right leg, breaking the bone just above the ankle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop.
Edward was unable to obtain the registration number of the vehicle, but managed to get up and make his way over the road to safety.
