Kidnapping drama

A WOMAN was allegedly raped after being hijacked together with a male friend early on Sunday morning. The drama started at 05:30 after a couple had given four men a lift from Paarl-East to Wellington. Shortly after this the men commanded the driver to drive towards Bain’s Kloof. Here the man was assaulted, stripped of his clothes and left by the side of the road. The men then drove to the Roggeland Road, where one man raped the woman. She too was then forced from the veh-icle. A passer-by alerted the police. Later on the same day, a patrol vehicle saw the car that had been reported stolen, and the driver was stopped in Mfuleni Road, Mbekweni. Five suspects were arrested in connection with the kidnapping and rape.
