AMADO is an animal assisted therapy program located in the heart of Paarl.

“Here we see 40 special needs children every week,” says M’Lani Basson, who started this initiative three years ago.

“Lives have been changed forever. Three years ago when we started, seven of our children were wheelchair bound. Today, not one of them uses their wheelchairs for much more than seats.

“One girl could not bath herself at age 16. Her father had to help her in and out. Today, three years on, she works as a librarian on the farm she grew up on. Her favourite pastime is taking long bubble baths by herself!

“We need your help to continue creating these miracles. To prove this we have started a project to feed our horses.

“By making a donation of R120 you can feed one of our horses for a day.”

For more details, visit the website www.amado.co.za. Funding can be deposited in Amado’s First National Bank cheque account, 2160574771 (branch code: 200110), Swift code: FIRNZAJJA.
