SOCCER fans can see the World Cup soccer tournament out with a bang at the Drakenstein fan park featuring a big screen at Boland Park cricketgrounds on Sunday night. The gates open at 16:30 and entry is free. Local DJ’s, G-Force and Mylie, will provide non-stop music from 16:30 followed by top SA hip-hop band Black Noise and the Mbekweni Youth Dancers at 18:00. The closing ceremony will be screened at 19:00, followed by the final game at 20:30. Soccer supporters can catch a free bus on the taxi routes in Paarl, Wellington, Gouda, Saron and Hermon. Hot food, snacks and refreshments will be on sale. The weather forecast predicts no rain for the final day and people are encouraged to bring their picnic chairs and warm jackets to stay on for the final game. The Drakenstein Soccer Festival has drawn more than 20 000 people from the community and created more than 200 jobs over the past few weeks.
