* Workshop. The Drakenstein Art Society invites you to join them for a fun evening at their monthly work-shop on Thursday 29 July at 19:00 at the Breytenbach Centre. This month’s theme is Wire and Beadwork and is hosted by a professional wire artist. Entrance is free (book on 082-575-3292).

Dr Gert van Niekerk, psigiater in privaatpraktyk in Paarl, praat oor verskeie aspekte in die hantering van die aandagtekort en/of hiperaktiwiteitversteuring (attention deficit and/or hyperactivity disorder). * Crowning. On Friday 13 August Miss Winelands and Miss Teen Winelands 2010 will be crowned at the Rusticana Event Centre in Klapmuts at 19:00. * Tuinbouklub. Die Wellington Tuinbouvereniging vergader Dinsdag 3 Augustus om 09:30 in die lesingsaal by Kaap Agri in Hoofstraat. Die geleentheidsprekers is Hanneke Dippenaar van Swellendam en Zoon Jacobs. Hulle sal hulle praatjie oor tuinuitleg en landskapargitektuur, toelig met ’n ‘powerpoint’ aanbieding. Besoekers is ook welkom teen R30 per persoon. Alle lede en besoekers word vriendelik versoek om NIE die hoofingang vanuit Hoofstraat te gebruik om by die lokaal uit te kom nie. * Vrouedag. ’n Vrouedag “rally” word op 9 Augustus aangebied deur die “Koraalvrou”, Unita Abrahams-Pretorius, by die Hepzibah konferensiesentrum. * Gourmet. The award-winning Bosman’s Restaurant at the Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl is holding a Gourmet Evening on Saturday 7 August in which fine cuisine will be paired with wines from acclaimed wine farms, Luddite and Ataraxia. The evening will be hosted by wine-maker Neil Verburg from Luddite Vineyards and Kevin Grant of Ataraxia.
