* Potjiekos. A potjiekos and wine tasting evening will be held on 7 August at the Mbekweni Community Hall at 18:00. There will also be traditional dancers and a live jazz band performing. Tickets are R120 and bookings can be made at 076-789-9471 or 072-584-2224.
* Damesoggend. In die gees van Vrouedag word ’n damesoggend op 14 Augustus om 10:00 by die Simondium Country Lodge aangebied. Die skreeusnaakse Marion Holm gaan sorg vir die oggend se vermaak. Die fondse wat ingesamel word, gaan vir die Alta du Toit Nasorgsentrum. Kaartjies is R110 en sluit eetgoed, ’n wynproe, gelukkige trekkings en hope vermaak in. Daar gaan ook stalletjies wees. * Breakfast. Young Gardens will be hosting a champagne Breakfast on Women’s Day, Monday 9 August, at Amstelhof Primary School Hall from 09:00. Unita Abrahams, “Die Koraalvrou” as well as Mayor Charmaine Manuel will be the speakers. The club invites players, former players, supporters and other club members to entertain the ladies in their lives to this enjoyable breakfast to celebrate Women’s Day. * Support. Last week The Funky Buddha launched their ‘Have a heart’ campaign which will run every Saturday for the month of August. Saturdays before 23:00, entry is free when you bring a can of food. The food will be donated to a worthy charity in Paarl. Well-known DJ Brandon Leigh will keep guests dancing all night, so come and support a good cause.
