THIS week, La Rochelle High School, one of the oldest schools in the country, celebrates its 150th birthday.

Today (5 August) the Old Girls’ Open Day will start at 11:00. The Big Brag in the school hall will start at 13:00 and the hockey and netball matches against Huguenot High

School will start at 14:30.

An Old Girls’ “Down Memory Lane” Bus Tour (15:00) will also be held followed by a chicken braai for parents and learners at 18:00 (R40 per person) followed by a Talent Show by the learners.

An Old Girls’ Reunion Cocktail (R60 per person) will take place in the marquee tent.

Tomorrow the Old Girls’: ”Down Memory Lane” Bus Tour will start at 09:00 and a Founders’ Day Formal Assembly will be held at 11:00.

An Old Girls’ Lunch (R150 per person) will be held at 13:00 in the marquee tent.

During the two days various memorabilia items will be on sale at the school and artwork and special photo collages will be on display.
