THE Oliver Fortuin Foundation’s annual winter ball will be this Saturday at the Allandale Recreational Hall.
The Oliver Fortuin Foundation is a public non-profit organisation established to address welfare and humanitarian issues within the South African society with a vision of alleviating these plights and creating an enabling and developing community within the Paarl/ Drakenstein district.
Since its inception in December 2007 the Foundation has embarked on various community activities such as distribution of food hampers over festive seasons, winter warmers and clothing drives, soup kitchens, annual carols by candlelight and various other donations. The year’s ball is a masked ball to emphasise the lesson of equality amongst all and never to judge others until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.
The proceeds of this year’s ball will go to their food hamper drive in December. Last year they managed to raise enough money to feed 220 families with hampers to the value of R200 each. The ball will kick off with a cheese and wine from 18:30 to 19:00, followed by a three course meal. A live band and DJ Jeff will be entertaining the guest for the evening.
