* Art Society. On 26 August the Drakenstein Art Society presents Fantasy Art “Living the emotion of creativity” as theme for their monthly workshop at the Breytenbach Centre at 18:30. Book on 083-535-6712. On 27 and 28 August they will host Jacolene de Haan for the weekend with the theme Release your Creative Block. Contact 082-575-3292 or visit Moer Café at the Breytenbach Centre. The cost is R250 for members and R500 for non-members.
* Gesondheidspraatjie. Op 29 Augustus om 15:00 word ’n Vrouedag-gesondheidspraatjie oor gesond eet in die kerksaal van die Bethel Cong Kerk in Paarl-Oos aangebied deur die Afrikaanse Taalmuseum en -monument en The Lofted B&B. Die hoofspreker by die geleentheid is Herman Uys, skrywer van die topverkoper “God se apteek: jy is wat jy eet en nie eet nie”. Kaartjies teen R40 is beskikbaar by die Taalmuseum. Alle gaste word gevra om ook ’n bydrae te maak in die vorm van vars vrugte en of groente wat aan die kerk se sopkombuis geskenk sal word. * Funksie. ’n Ete om fondse in te samel vir die evangelisasiewerk onder gevangenes deur evangelis Danny Arendse word op Sondag 22 Augustus om 12:00 by die Drakenstein NG kerksaal in Denneburg aangebied deur die kerk. Vir navrae, skakel 021-872-8242. Kaartjies is R50 vir ’n smaaklike tweegangmaaltyd met hoenderpastei. Bring jou eie eetgerei en drinkgoed en kom kuier gesellig saam!
* Support. The Funky Buddha club will host their ‘Have a Heart’ campaign every Saturday for the month of August. Before 23:00, entry is free when you bring a can of food, to be donated to a worthy charity in Paarl.
* Exhibition. The Gallery at the Grande Provence Wine Estate in Franschhoek showcases an art exhibition“andWHATnow?”, which opens on Sunday 29 August at 11:00 and runs until Wednesday 6 October.
* Vroue-oggend. Die bekende televisie-aktrise Elsabé Daneel is die spreker by ’n vroueoggend wat op 28 Augustus om 09:30 by To Dine For aangebied word ten bate van Kleuterkampus op Wellington. * Spring Breakfast. The Paarl Methodist Church will host their annual Spring Breakfast and mini fête on 4 September to raise funds for the church in Sanddrift Street. This year the church celebrates 40 years in Paarl. A farmstyle breakfast will be served and there will be stalls and lots of fun for the children.
