Super Cycle Series hosts two day tour

THE next event in the Drakenstein Super Cycle Road Series will be a 2-day tour for all categories, which takes place this coming Saturday and Sunday. The event will be open for junior riders (u.10,u.12, u.14, u.16), ladies, veterans and open riders (elites, u.23 and juniors). The organisers of the series also cater for the not so serious cyclists and those who want to prepare for the upcoming Pedal Power Spring funride season. These cyclists, young and old can participate in a 45km Funride on Sunday. The top Western Cape Teams like Daikin GU as well as Cape Town Market who dominated the series so far, have confirmed their participation in this 2-day cycle tour. The tour will start on Saturday (28 August) with a 6km Individual Time Trial for all categories. This will be hosted at the Boland Cricket Stadium in Langenhoven Avenue, Paarl. The first rider in the individual Time Trial will start at 10:00. The scholars groups will be first to start. On Saturday afternoon the riders will participate in a criterion race that will start and finish in Breda Street (La Rochelle hockey field), Paarl. All categories will have their own criterion race. On Sunday (29 August) the tour will move to the Florida Farm Stall on the Malmesbury road (R45 road) outside Wellington, where riders in the various categories will participate in a road race to decide the winners of the tour in the various categories. Cyclists can register and collect their numbers on Saturday at the Boland Cricket Stadium from 08:30. Those who want to participate in the 45 km funride on Sunday can register and collect their numbers on the day at the Florida Farm Stall from 08:30.
