THE Drakenstein Heemkring will host a talk on the contribution of archaeology towards a better understanding of historical sites on Wednesday 15 September at 19:00.
Harriet Clift, a historical archaeologist, will discuss the recent excavation of the Welgelegen farmstead in District 6, Cape Town.
Welgelegen was a 1795 grant to Johannes Matthias Bletterman, who also owned the farm Schoongezicht in Paarl South.
The Drakenstein Heemkring is Paarl’s archive and is situated at the corner of Main and Auret Streets.
