Cyclists in action at Velodrome

TOP local cyclists will be in action at the 2010 South African Track Cycling Championships that will take place at the Bellville Velodrome this weekend (2-4 October). They will be joined by all the top track cyclist from around the country for this premier event on the South African track cycling calendar. James Perry of Team EMG Yorkshire, that is based in Johannesburg and 2009 winner of the popular Boxing Day 25 mile event, has also confirmed his participation in this year’s National Championships. Many other top professional cyclists from Team MTN and Team House of Paints also confirmed their participation. The youngsters of Boland will also be in action and will do their best to bring home the medals. Local cyclists who will represent Boland at the Championships are (u.10) Linwil Jansen, (u.12) Daniston Perrins, Keanu Slinger, Wade Theunissen, (u.14) George Perrins, Jean Claude Jantjies, Graeme Ockhuis, Lee-Arthur Green, (u.16) Dino Daniels, Angelo Diedericks, Franklin Stoffels, Byron Martin, Darren Andrews, Brent van Rooyen and Lendle Hendricks. Juniors participating are Joshwil Davids, Nathan Cornelissen, Elites: Avery Arendse, Reginald Benjamin, Janos Plekker, Marius September, Brandon Christians, Durwin Benjamin and veteran Joseph September.
