Taste Paarl's top wines
2010-10-07
FANS of Shiraz and Chenin Blanc will once again play judge at the annual Santam Agriculture Paarl Consumer Tasting on Friday 15 October at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate. Wine tasting guilds, wine clubs and other vinous enthusiasts are invited to pit their wits against the judging panel and cast their votes for the Consumers’ Choice Awards. New to the event is a pre-tasting of top Paarl Chenin Blanc and Shiraz. This will take place at 17:00, before the seated event. The blind tasting will then commence at 18:30, with Charles Hopkins once again leading enthusiasts through the winning wines chosen at the Paarl Shiraz Chenin Challenge that took place in July. The tasting has become tremendously popular for its informative yet informal glimpse into two popular cultivars. The ticket price of R120 includes the pre-tasting, seated tasting and light snacks and can be reserved through Paarl Vintners on 021-863-4886 or info@paarlwine.co.za. On-line bookings can be made at www. ewine.co.za. Prizes, give-aways and lucky draws will be up for grabs on the night.
