ON Saturday 9 October the gates of Inca Vale Alpaca Farm and Wholesale Tree Nursery (adjacent to Florida Padstal) will once again be open to the public from 09:00 to 16:00.
This time the public will be given an opportunity to see and learn about the alpacas (some with their young crias or lambs) and the products made from their valuable wool. The alpacas’ manure is also a prized nutrient in the tree nursery and will be on sale during the Open Day, as well as indigenous trees and plants.
Gavin Lindhorst will give a talk on the alpacas at 11:00. Gavin started the industry in South Africa over ten years ago and can advise potential owners on the easy husbandry requirements and investment potential of the industry. Alpaca garments from Helderstroom Alpacas in Villiersdorp will also be displayed.
