THE Drakenstein Municipality, in partnership with local business associations, will be hosting its first ever Business Summit on 21 October at Nelson’s Creek.
The purpose of the summit is to establish a unified business federation that will be the representative body of business in Drakenstein. A business steering committee was established two months ago to drive the process of establishment of the business federation.
The business steering committee consists of representatives from almost all economic sectors and business associations such as the Paarl Sakekamer, the Black Business Forum, the Drakenstein Chamber of Commerce, Wellington Tourism Association and three agricultural associations.
Delegates to the business summit will also discuss critical topics, focusing on tourism retention and development, the rela-tionship between big and small business including coaching and mentoring, impediments to doing business in Drakenstein, business finance streams and agriculture in Drakenstein.
The elected representatives of the Drakenstein Business Federation will meet with the Drakenstein Municipality on a regular basis to discuss progress with the implementation of the resolutions taken at the summit, as well as other issues of concern.
