THE OK MiniMark Wellington was recently selected as the best OK MiniMark store in the OK Franchise Division, claiming the Franchisee of the Year 2010 title in their category.
The store competed with OK MiniMark stores across South Africa and Namibia in a yearlong judging process, which means coming out on top proves they really are the cream of the crop in the retail market.
The announcement was made at a prestige gala dinner during the OK Franchise Division’s annual conference at Sun City.
Store owners Theo and Sanel Steyn were thrilled when their names were called out as the winners, but they say this great achievement would not have been possible without their staff.
Theo and Sanel supervise everything that happens at the store, but the contribution of every staff member is a determining factor in the success of the store and therefore the staff members are just as excited about the award.
“We are all like one big family at OK and one learns a lot from the other store owners when we talk to one another,” says Theo.
Their years of experience also played a big role in winning the award.
“Sanel is constantly keeping an eye on the latest trends in the retail industry to ensure we are stocking the right product range and variety at the store.”

The OK stores undergo an extensive judging process for the Franchisee of the Year awards to ensure that the top spots go to stores who continually meets the highest standards.
Throughout the year the stores are judged on a diverse selection of criteria, which include growth, general store standards, customer service, in-store department offerings and displays, staff motivation and community involvement.
