I would like to thank Metro Ambulance Services for their rapid response during my time of need.
I was sitting in the passenger seat whilst driving with my fiancé on his way to work in Worcester.
He did not feel well and lost consciousness after suffering a stroke, and the car veered off the road. I did not know where we were on Du Toit’s Kloof Pass and phoned 10111 to lodge a call for help. The operator advised me to call 10177 (Metro). Within minutes the Metro paramedic team arrived, and tended to my fiancé.
Then a few minutes later a Metro ambulance team consisting of David Cupido, Neville Williams and Donny van Schoor arrived to take him to Paarl Hospital.
When we got there I thought it was a private hospital - so clean and well equipped. The nursing staff and doctors outnumbered the patients at that moment - that speaks volumes for National Health Care.
I express my thanks for the rapid response of Metro Ambulance Services and the doctors of the Paarl Hospital.
