Toastmasters' annual showcase a hit

THE Paarl Toastmasters’ recent showcase event in Wellington was a well attended and jam-packed with activities under the gavel of Pat Hart, Toastmaster of the evening.
Guest speakers presented their competition winning speeches with distinction.
Walda Swart movingly presented “I hope, you hope” and hubby Kobus Swart presented “Make that call”, both from the Speak for Sure Club and Don Tooth of the Chuckle & Chirp Club.
Bringing an international flavour into play were Claudia Swart of Stellenbosch club, chosen to work a year at Disney’s animal kingdom, and Eric Peltz of Winelands club, who spoke on his harrowing “photo finish” at Moscow Airport, when the photo on his entry visa went missing.
The evening included a brandy tasting and dinner.
