WE live in the Berg-en-Dal Street in Wellington next to the Leeuwerivier.
After phoning the police of Wellington one week ago, I’m still waiting for them to come out, because there are people living in the course of Leeuwerivier.
I then called the municipal law enforcement team and they came out the same day. After they checked out the living space of the people, they left again and still today the people are living in the river.
The plants are standing so high that it is a playground for people to live and hide in the river.
Normally the municipality needs to clean the river twice a year, but their response to us is that there is a court case against the men that cleaned out the river a few years ago.
Now we are sitting with the fear of water in winter and the fear of fire in summer.
Is it normal that you call the police and you still wait for them to come out after a week? I don’t think that is normal.
