Road running at Boschendal

THE final event of the 2010 Boland Road Running League will be taking place on 6 November at Boschendal. A total prize money of more than R20 000 will be won by the re-spective winners of the half-marathon and 10km categories. Hillroy Slingers from Worcester AC is considered to be the top contender in the half- marathon men’s category. In the half-marathon women’s category it is a close contest between Ena Gous (Worcester AC), Veronica van Niekerk (Elgin Grabouw AC) and Resia Swart (Stellenbosch AC). In the 10km men’s category, Luyanda Qolo, the talented junior athlete from Hangklip AC, is leading the field. In the 10km women’s category, Magrietha Smit from Ceres AC is in the lead. In the team categories, Ceres AC is leading the field in both the half-marathon and 10km categories with Worcester AC and Hangklip AC in the second place respectively.
