Boland Al-Azhar Cycle Tour

THE 2nd Boland Al-Azhar Cycle Tour is taking place this Sunday (31 October) and the organisers forecast that this will be an annual event on Paarl’s cycle calendar. The event starts and finishes at the Parys Cricket Grounds in Market Street, Paarl. It consists of a short route (45km) and a long route (80km) incorporating a Cycling SA licensed open category, which will include Junior, Elite and Veteran riders. Entry fees for the 80km and 45km, are R100 and R50 respectively. The long route travels via Pearl Valley, Pniel, Helshoogte, Stellenbosch, Klapmuts and back to Paarl. There will also be catered for a tricycle race for the young ones at a R10 entry fee. They will also receive goodie bags. The Open CSA riders will race for a grand first prize of R1500, a second prize of R1000 and a third of R500.
