MY daughter and I were very upset after a bad experience with a hairdresser in Paarl East.
We had booked for the hair of the bride and myself (the mother of the bride) to be done on a Saturday morning.
After making the booking, we phoned the hairdresser’s number and explained to the assistant that there were three bridesmaids whose hair should also be done up.
When we got to the salon early on the Saturday morning, we waited for hours while the hairdresser did his regular clients’ hair first.
In the end our hair was done in a big rush - we ended up doing our make-up in the salon and were an hour late for the wedding!
According to the hairdresser he never got the message about the extra work, and did the best he could, but pointed out that he could not neglect his regular clients who are his bread and butter.
I just wonder why he did not tell us about his problem and advise us to get assistance from other hairdressers when he realised that he had too many clients?
I want to warn brides to visit the hairdresser of their choice beforehand and in person, to ensure that there are no misunderstandings.
