IN South Africa 61% of people are regarded as being overweight, according to a study that was conducted recently by pharmaceutical group, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK).
Further statistics showed that Cape Town was the city with the most obese people which topped the scale at 72%. Pretoria’s statistics indicated 68% and Johannesburg was also a depressing 59%. Durban was the city with the lowest on the list with 52% of obese people.
Not only do obese people generally feel unhappy, but it severely affects their health. One of the common side effects of being obese is developing diabetes.
