THE father of a three-year-old baby girl was arrested for her rape last weekend. Members of Mbekweni police were alerted by concerned members of the community about the possible rape of the child. The police visited a crèche in H-block where the child was cared for during the day, and after investigation, the child was taken for medical examination, were it was confirmed that she had been raped several times. * In Magnolia, Paarl East, a six-year-old boy claimed that he had been raped by a man on Saturday afternoon. After the boy had complained of pain to his mother, he told her that he and two friends were approached by a man, who then sent his two friends to the shop with R10 to buy sweets. During this time the man raped the boy. No arrests have been made. *Also on Saturday afternoon, a 15-year-old girl from Lantana claimed that she had been raped by a man in Bothma Street. The young victim told police that she had choked on a piece of fruit and knocked on a door to ask for a drink of water. She said a grown man told her to come inside, but once in the house, he forced her onto a bed and raped her. No one has been arrested * A 12-year-old girl from Springbok Street, Chicago, has laid a charge at the Paarl East police station, claiming that she had been raped over a period of six years by her uncle.
