Teenager held on murder charge

A 17-year-old youngster has been arrested for murder, after a man was found dead in Mbekweni. The body of Maxhego Xolisa (20) was discovered in Drommedaris Street, near the railway station, at 21:30 on Saturday. He had died of various stab wounds. The following day, a man handed his son over to the police, claiming that he was responsible for Xolisa’s death. The suspect in turn told police that an argument broke out between him and the deceased that evening, during which Xolisa became violent. He claims that in an act of self defence, he stabbed Xolisa.
