THE best hotel in Africa is located in Franschhoek, according to the magazine Condé Nast’s Readers’ Choice Awards for 2010.
The Le Franschhoek Hotel and Spa, a member of the Three Cities group, got the highest mark of any hotel in Africa (96%) from the readers. The hotel is 22nd on the world wide ranking by the readers.
The hotel is located in a secluded valley south-west of Franschhoek, and boasts suites in an extensive garden and relaxed surroundings, with a number of restaurants and other facilities.
South African hotels took six spots in the top ten including Cape Grace in Cape Town (3rd), Westin Grande Arabella Quays (6th), Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa (7th), Victoria & Alfred Hotel (8th) and Table Bay (9th).
