Projects to begin athletics season

THE 2011 athletics season in Drakenstein will start off with a number of capacity building projects, organised by Paarl Athletics Club to assist athletes, coaches and officials in their preparation for the 2011 athletics season. The projects on 15 January at Dal Josaphat Stadium include a specialised coaching clinic, an advanced technical symposium for officials and an athletics meeting. The specialised coaching clinic (09:00-13:00) will cater for all track and field events. The enrolment fee is R10 (teachers/ coaches) and R2 (athletes). The enrolment fee for licensed TO’s is R50 and non-licensed TO’s is R110. Contact Brandon du Plessis at 076-187-7260 for more information. Events for both men and women for the first athletics meeting for 2011 includes the 5000m walk, pole vault, long jump, shotput, javelin, 200m, 800m, 400mH, 200m, 3000m, 90m H, 100m H, Discus, 110mH and 400m. The coaching clinic hosted by Paarl Athletics Club on 15 January is part of Boland Athletics‘s business plan for 2011. The clinic will start at 09:00 and end at 13:00. The participation fee is R10 for teachers and coaches and R2 for athletes.
