* Our roads are in a dire need of repair, and when repairs are eventually done we are all grateful. However closing one lane for kilometres when only a small section is actually worked upon is ludicrous (Wemmershoek Road). No doubt it suits the contractor, but the road users and time wasted must also be taken into account. Appeal should be made to the Regional Council to get common sense to prevail here. Be Practical

To be fair to the various faiths of our valley’s ratepayers, it would only be appropriate if shining symbols of equal size be erected on a permanent basis beside the Christian cross including, say, a Star of David, Crescent Moon, Pentagram, Ankh, Yin/Yang to name but a few.
