PICNIC lovers should not miss the Valentine full-moon picnic at the Afrikaanse Languagae Monument on Paarl Mountain on Friday 18 February.
Local as well as international visitors enjoy these picnics for the sunset and night time views of the valley. A record number of 726 picknickers attended the full-moon picnic in January.
Various prizes are up for grabs for those who dare to dress up in red to celebrate the month of love. Moonrise is at 19:29 and sunset at 19:36. A guided tour of the Monument will start at 18:30. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic baskets or they can order one from Volksmond Coffee Shop’s picnic menu (021-863-2800 or volksmond@taalmuseum.co.za). Volksmond will be open until 22:00 for coffee and light refreshments. Entrance is R12 (R5 for students and R2 for children) and no bookings are required.
