School bus, van collide

SHOCKED and injured children needed treatment and counselling after a collision between their school bus and a police patrol van in Agter Paarl last week. The 25-seater was travelling towards Wellington at 07:00 on Thursday when it struck a police van crossing the R44 at Windmeul. Four children and the driver of the police van were slightly injured. Earlier last week a police bakkie from Klapmuts was involved in an accident when tourists who had overshot the Suid Agter Paarl intersection made a U-turn across the Old Paarl Road. Const Phukamele Gwanya was only slightly injured and the police vehicle wrecked. * School buses under 3,5 tons can now undergo free brake, suspension and tyre checks at Boland Roadworthy Centre (872-0824) it is located at 21 Jan van Riebeeck Drive, Huguenot.
