Robbers escape with beer
2011-03-03
ARMED robbers have struck again in Wellington, this time escaping with a large amount of beer. The incident took place on Sunday morning when four men held up employees of Reinz Liquors in Blignaut Street. Although the liquor store was closed for business, the employees were taking stock. The men demanded their cellphones and money, as well as the keys to a bakkie which was packed with 90 crates of beer. The men then fled in the bakkie. Shortly after this, the police discovered the abandoned bakkie in Swartberg Street. According to eye-witnesses, the men off-loaded the beer, but they were not willing to say where the beer was taken. Police are studying video footage from CCTV cameras of Reinz Liquors in order to identify the perpetrators.
