THE Drakenstein Municipality is presenting its Populate the Parks campaign to create a safe learning environment for kids at parks.
This campaign will be run together with the eight libraries within the Drakenstein area and programmes will take place at the park closest to each library. The libraries include Mill Street Library, Drakenstein Library, Mbekweni Library, Wellington Library, Gouda Library and Saron Library.
Kids will have the chance to take part in events like The Amazing Race, Indigenous Games, Art in the Park, cleaning and decorating the park, recycling, puppet shows, story telling, water wise gardening and many more other fun learning activities.
At the Gouda Library (Gouda Park) there will be a puppet show and story telling on 15 March, jumping castles and slippery slides on 16 March, art in the park and Steiny the dragon on 17 March, treasure hunt on 18 March and story telling and a talent show on 19 March. The activities start at 10:00. At the Readers’ Library (field next to library) on 19 March there will be story telling at 10:00 and at the Mill Street Library (Victoria Park) on 16 March at 10:00 Steiny the dragon will entertain kids.
The campaign will run until 7 April and the full programme details will be available at your nearest library.
