THE Drakenstein Municipality is presenting its Populate the Parks campaign to create a safe learning environment for kids at parks.
This campaign will be run together with the eight libraries within the Drakenstein area and programmes will take place at the park closest to each library.
The libraries include Mill Street , Drakenstein, Mbekweni, Wellington, Weltevrede Van Wyksvlei Readers Library, Groenheuwel, Gouda and Saron.
Kids will have the chance to take part in events like The Amazing Race, Indigenous Games, Art in the Park, cleaning and decorating the park, puppet shows, story telling, water wise gardening and many more other fun learning activities.
Steiny the dragon will entertain kids on 22 March (Drakenstein Library), 24 March (Saron Library, Van Wyksvlei Readers Library, Groenheuwel Library and the Drakenstein Library). The activities start at 10:00. Full details of the campaign, which runs until 7 April, are available at your nearest library.
