Guilty as charged

THE reader ‘Motoris’ seems to have a problem regarding the fact that the signboards were not up for a period while the camera was working, and thus he should not be fined for speeding.
My question is: Is he not aware of the fact that the speed limit in any town in South africa is 60km/h? If you received a fine, or were ‘snapped’, you were exceeding the speed limit, plain and simple.
I am not sure what exactly the law says, but I feel this is a perfect example of people avoiding personal responsibility. Until we all, not just in Paarl, but everywhere, begin to grow up and take responsibility for our actions in every sphere of life, we will never get anywhere.
This culture of spoon feeding must end, it is detrimental to ourselves and society as a whole.
