THE Acorn Academy, a school and tutoring centre in Paarl, helps children with special educational needs.
The academy is situated at 227 Main Street (next to the BMW Garage).
Here children can receive therapy and tutoring under one roof as well as home schooling in a small class setup.
They specialise in Autism, Aspergers Syndrome, ADHD, Apraxia, Down’s Syndrome, developmental delay and learning difficulties. Children attending the academy do not need a diagnoses.
Therapy options are speech therapy, occupational therapy, bio-feedback therapy and equine therapy is also available.
They also aim to work together with schools and teachers to get the full picture of the child’s educational needs and to help each other with the student’s individual progress to perform better in school.
